The Western Caspian University Technopark was established at the beginning of the 2017-2018 academic year. The main objective of the establishmentof the Technopark is to carry out, commercialize and contribute to society the scientific and experimental work of the academic and student staff of the university. Technopark has been a positive factor for the development and update of the university's research agenda in areas regarding requirements of firms on science and technology. The interaction between the Technopark and the university provided a positive impact on the ability to innovate.
Starting the day of its activity, seminars and trainings were held to promote the concept of initiative among students, to support realizing of students' social, business and educational ideas. Technopark also provides technical and organizational support to many competitions. For example, the organization supported the ``Game Jam'' hackathon competition, which was held for the first time in Azerbaijan, and as a part of the competition, students were trained in 3D Game development.
Our infrastructure
The extensive infrastructure of the Technopark allows any academic activity to be carried out here.. In this regard, the university allocated 5 rooms in the educational building of the University located in Narimanov, 2 rooms in the educational building of the School of High Technologies and Innovative Engineering, 2 production areas (together with offices) of 288 square meters each in Balakhani Industrial Park of the A.R. Ministry of Economy, production area of 4 hectares located on the Baku-Sumgayit highway of the University, where students and academic staff can work and stay together, a 150 sq meters business incubator center and 600 sq meters mechatronics, robotics, mechanics laboratory rooms in the newly commissioned educational building in the 2018-2019 academic year. https://texnopark.wcu.edu.az
